Are you alive????💀
Where are you? No updates & no pics from you since long….👻👻
Is everything Ok? You’re always offline on Fb messenger.😷😷
These kind of questions are often asked by my friends who are connected through Facebook but not through What’s App . When you are away or have taken break from social networking sites then friends assume things differently.🤔🤔 I have only FB account (no other social media accounts)which I used very very rarely .
Why is it hard for people to believe that life can be survived & enjoyed without social media. It’s not like that I hate Fb or I am anti social , fb is powerful platform to connect with friends , family & it has numerous positive aspects. But irrelevant posts, negativity, insensitive jokes, crazy forwards, oversharing are few things which kept me away from it . There are few things you might find weird & crazy 😛😛 which made me realized that Fbing is not my cup of tea.🙈
I fear that the moment I logged in, flood of notification would crash down my mobile 📜💣 & piles of old posts would trapped me inside to suffocation . And one more thing few friend requests will put so much strain on my tiny brain to recall where I met that person 🤔 So to save my mobile & myself I always keep distance from it .🙅🙅
I admired people’s choice & patience when they upload 100s of pictures in one go. I’m very choosy & impatient in uploading pics & so you’ll see hardly any pics on my timeline. 😷😷.
Many friends had asked pics of twins when they were born. I still remember one of my friend ‘s message ” are you going to upload pics of your kids or are you directly inviting us to their marriage” .😡😡 Hmmm …finally pics were online but don’t expect that early I posted few pics when twins turned 7months & those were the last pics on my timeline .😎😎 So friends !! you know now why my timeline is empty & if you ask twins preschool pics & you might expect in their college life.🤗🤗
When someone is on holiday & updating every single detail & pic of the tour (except where they peed & pooped) 🤧🤧 . Declaring your whereabouts is a good practice actually so that we can easily track you down if you lost in between hotel gate to hotel room.👀🕵
Few disciplined friends who always announce every(short/ long) airport check in🛫 & checkout🛬 on fb. By doing this they are assuring everyone that they have boarded the right plane 👍& have not taken any mid-air jump out of the plane.🤸🤸😉
( thank God my hubby is not on fb , if he had started like this, his page would have been long display board of arrival & departure 🤑🤑)
Actually I’m not so good at tagging, hashtags, sharing & location .🤕 What if I tagged wrong person/location/hotel I might end up on wrong planet ☻☻ so I’m not doing any of this .😰🤑.
This instant update /fb Live really surprised me.🤔🤔 Why so hurry!! & why you need approval of likes & comments from others 🖒🖒😮😮 in the middle of family dinners, parties , sightseeing, movie, or any program. Social networking can wait but life moments won’t come back again.
One more thing I want to add is little prayer from the heart, kindness, love & generosity in REAL life would help that sick person not number of shares, likes & comments. Spread positive vibes which are much needed in today’s world.
When
Social networking becomes Bare Necessity
then
Virtual Presence stashed your Reality.
Life is judged by Status Updates
&
Likes & comments decide your Happiness Index.
More important is
“What is shown than What is seen”.
There is rush to Upload, Post & Share.
Being with “Others” you’re ignoring
what is “Yours”.
Moments are not Lived but
continuously Captured .
People get closer & smile brightened,
When Selfies speak , “Me-time” is Silenced .
Everything Disappeared off the click.
Smile is missing but Smileys are everywhere
Fake is Adored & images are Filtered.
Fear of missing out everything
is Shared.
When
Eyes widened with each notification
&
Active timeline represents Lifeline!
then
Social Networking turned into
Heavy Addiction!!!!

Thanks for resonating!!
Everyone has own ways to deal social media. Decision of staying away from it is easier for me but might be very difficult for someone. I know off fb I’m missing out many stuff but when online wasn’t gaining much either.😊😊

I tried FB for a while and just gave up in the end. I just loathed all the junk and notifications and what-not. Can’t see why so many seem to live and breathe it all the time!

I can totally understand how you feel!!
Continuous notifications of what friends ‘liked ‘ & ‘commented ‘ are so frustrating. 😒
I’m so pleased to know that we share same views on social media. 😉😉Thanks

Lovely post and totally have to agree! I’ve been trying to detox from social media and def feels so much better. I think everyone needs to realize that happiness in life just comes from spending those precious moments with loved ones and not posting everything on social media 🙂

A real and humorous take on our public lives – loved the one about your husband’s timeline. Often the chat between my husband and mine reads line that – checked in boarded and landed 😀 But then again that’s essential! Thanks for a refreshing post

So true. The prejudice of people consider you a loner if you are not active on social media. How sad that can be

Yes Shantanu, sometimes really annoying when people considered “being online ” as “being social”

Ah, I can totally relate myself to this post right now! I took a long break from social media only to realize life is sweeter and more meaningful without being connected to the digital world every second of every day. I don’t understand the point in ppl posting everything they do on it!!!

I can so much relate to this post. Most of my friends ask me why am I not so much active on social media. The fact is, I just don’t understand the incessant need to keep posting every single detail about your life. I mean the likes and comments and shares make you anxious and it isn’t even the step to measure your happiness and peace in life.

You captured almost everything of what it is to be on Social Media… we’ve all just become so in-tuned with a life + social media, that it would be really interesting to see, what if one day everything just disappeared and we are back in stone age? Remember ‘The Flintstones’? Yabba Dabba Doo! :p
