DIY: Doll House

Hi all,

Welcome to “Antara’s Creativity “.  December is here & soon  2018 will knock our doors with fresh beginnings. I love December because of winter, holidays, lighting & Christmas decorations  everywhere.

For kids it’s more of  gifts, cakes & celebration.  This year Antara decided  to make doll house for her little sis “Aaru” & toy cars parking for little brother “Reyu” as Christmas  gift .

Even though Antara doesn’t play with dolls nowadays but 2years back she loved them & had made many different doll houses as shown in below pics.

Here I’m going to share steps for doll house. You can create many layers &  different rooms here we did living room, kitchen washroom, bedroom & garden.

For this you need

  •  boxes of different sizes
  • coloured papers
  • glue
  • Paper cuttings of furniture
  • Bottle caps, plastic spoons

–Take big box & stick colored paper from inside. Now with small boxes plan your layout  & fix these boxes to main box accordingly.

–For furniture, you can use toothpaste, soap n small boxes . Wrap it & draw/stick  pic cuttings of furniture .

–For dining table take round cap & fix it on the small paper roll. For chairs use matchstick boxes .

–Cut spoon, bottle cap , small mirror, paper curtain & rectangular box used for bathrooms.

–You can design any type of garden here Antara gave winter look & kept Christmas decorations & a cute snow man . That snow man  is very easy which she has learned  in last year’s winter camp.

–For this take white sock,  cut upper part to make cap. Now filled 3/4 of sock with any grain like rice to make tummy. Close tightly with ribbon . Again filled it with grain to give small round shape .  Use pins with pearl heads for face. For cap tie red ribbon in center & roll lower portion. Now fix this  cap with pins.

Here   Doll house🏡 is ready. Hope you guys liked it. Creativity has no limit, you can create as big as cupboard & small as one box.   For furniture you can create, stick pictures or use toy set .

You might be having many ideas, feel free to share your ideas too.

    1. Yes Radhika. Antara always thinking how she can use things creatively. In fact we have complete doll house set but she decided to do it from scratch. 😊 Even I love to help her as it refreshes my childhood memories of playing bhatukali.😍😍

  1. Can you please suggest me some ideas for a gift to a friend. Actually we live in different states and would have to send it by post. So something that would be suitable?

    1. Hey!… I don’t know the details but if you are sending it by post then you can make pics diary of special moments, pop up cards or hand made crafts like photo frames, room decor.

  2. Wow what a creative woman she is. I’ll try to get something from Michael’s The craft store, for my kids. I’ll make them a little house they could play with on the weekends. Good Job sharing that idea. If you didn’t my kids would have their smiles rarely.
